A mini-rant to medical professionals:
- Lecturing me about following directions from other medical professionals is silly. No, I didn’t know better. I’m not a doctor, and I don’t specialize in your area. I’m here because I DON’T know.
- Telling me specifically that it won’t get better will not serve a purpose. It will just insure that there are fewer tissues left in the box in your waiting room.
- Understand that neither of us have a crystal ball. Negativity isn’t particularly necessary or useful.
- Giving me time to ask questions is greatly appreciated.
- Bonus points for actually answering said questions.
Thanks much.
Oh, Cheryl, I feel for you! Just reading this brought back some painful memories of one doctor’s staff and one very specific incident when a brochure was thrown in my face and I was “dismissed.” Your comment on the tissue boxes especially reminded me of that visit. These folks are supposed to be there to help us, right? Big hugs to you and all who’ve been through this type of experience!
Shirley
Amen, sister! (And sorry to hear that you went through some/all of that). Hugs!
Thanks to both of you! (and a big group hug)
Cheryl, you said it! Sorry you went through that – sending you a cyber-hug!

uuughhh!!!! I can really relate to that! I’m so sorry Cheryl! It is so frustrating… that doctor could take a lesson from you on talking to people, being positive, encouraging, and understanding!
